Everyone just loves localization. There is nothing in the world more fun than spending the weekend localizing a report so that it can be viewed by people all over the place. Fun! Fun! Fun! Like a trip to the dentist.
I’m in the process of creating a “community whitepaper” on the subject (IE: Not sponsored/supported by Tableau) and the first is bit “good enough” to be ready for a bit of public exposure.
The attached PDF really just gets into the “basics” – it’s information you could find in Online Help and Knowledge Base articles. I’ve just pulled it altogether and added some additional context.
Please give this a look-see and give me your thoughts! I’ll take any feedback you want to offer – from grammar to additional topics you’d like to see covered to technical errors you’ve spotted.
As the next sections are ready, I’ll post ‘em here, too. When everything is complete and I’ll make a final version available to those who want it.
Cheers!
